‘One small step for man, one giant leap for the Council to fix our roads!’
Following recent news that President Barack Obama has ditched all human flights to the moon, it was a surprise to see an American astronaut mistakenly land on Woodway Lane having confused the state of the road with the surface of the moon, due to the large number of craters on the road.
Local residents claim it is bumpiest road in Coventry and resembles the surface of the moon.
Cllr. Kevin Maton (Lab, Henley) said: “Woodway Lane is in a shocking condition and is very dangerous to drive on due to the number and size of craters in the road. This is a serious issue which has been reported to the Council time again by local residents and myself, the Council has become a joke in their inability to repair our road network.”
“Many motorists in Coventry have become used to swerving in out of the potholes in the road to prevent repeated damage to their tyres and suspension, this sort of driving will inevitably lead to accidents.”
Cllr. Ed Ruane (Lab, Henley) said: “It would be safer to drive a moon buggy down Woodway Lane and many other roads in our city which have more similarities with the surface of the moon than a city road.”
“There needs to be an urgent review of road maintenance in the city, as Coventry is clearly struggling to cope with the worst potholes, we can’t go on like this if we are genuinely serious about attracting new businesses to our city.”
Is Woodway Lane the worst in the city? Or do you have another candidate? Let us know by leaving a comment.
